Refund Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-15
The short version
30-day no-questions-asked refund, from the day you buy the product. Email me at nikos@plumbnote.com, say "refund", and I'll process it within 24 hours. You keep the files.
After 30 days, refunds are case-by-case. If you ask nicely and explain why, I will almost always still say yes — I'd rather you walk away feeling good about the transaction than hold onto €29 out of principle.
The full version
Your right to a refund
Every digital product sold by Plumbnote comes with a 30-day refund guarantee. Within those 30 days, you can ask for a full refund for any reason — or no reason at all. I'll process it within 24 hours.
You do NOT need to:
- Explain why you want the refund
- Fill out a form
- Delete the files you downloaded
- Provide screenshots or proof
- Wait for approval
Just email nikos@plumbnote.comwith the words "refund request" and your order details (order number or email used at checkout).
How the refund works
- Via Gumroad: Gumroad processes the refund directly to your original payment method. Typical timing: 3-5 business days for cards, 1-2 for PayPal
- No partial refunds: refunds are always full amount. Nothing partial.
- No store credit: I don't do store credit. It's a real refund to your real payment method.
After 30 days
After the 30-day window, I still grant refunds in most cases. Write me an email explaining:
- What you expected
- What you got
- Why you feel it wasn't right for you
I read every email personally. If your reason is anywhere close to reasonable, you'll get your money back. The only cases where I'd decline a late refund are:
- Obvious abuse (buying multiple times to repeatedly refund)
- Threatening or insulting language in the request
- Claims that don't match what the product actually is (where I can see the listing was clear)
Even in those cases, I'd rather negotiate than fight.
Chargeback policy
If you dispute the charge with your bank (chargeback) before emailing me for a refund, I'll still process the refund on my end — but please email me first. A direct refund takes 3-5 days; a chargeback takes 30-90 days, costs both of us, and can mess up my payment processor account.
I never dispute a chargeback from an individual customer for a digital product. If you chargeback, you win. I just ask you to talk to me first, because the direct path is faster.
Abuse
The refund policy exists because I trust my customers. Abuse of the policy — repeated refund requests, buying multiple times to farm refunds, coordinated refund campaigns — will result in:
- A polite but firm email declining the refund
- A block from future purchases
- No legal action (not worth anyone's time at €29)
This has never actually happened. The policy is here to keep it that way.
EU consumer rights
If you're a consumer in the EU, you have additional statutory rights under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) — specifically, a 14-day right of withdrawal for most online purchases.
For digital products delivered immediately and not on a tangible medium (like every Plumbnote product), you waive this 14-day withdrawal right at the moment you begin the download, per Article 16(m) of the Directive. Gumroad shows a consent checkbox for this at checkout.
However, I voluntarily offer the 30-day no-questions-asked refund described above, regardless of whether you waived the statutory withdrawal right. So in practice, EU buyers have more rights than the law requires.
Nothing in this policy overrides any mandatory consumer protection in your home jurisdiction.
Timeline for refund processing
| Event | Timing |
|---|---|
| You email nikos@plumbnote.com | — |
| I reply confirming the refund | Usually within a few hours (max 24h) |
| I process the refund via Gumroad | Same email thread |
| Gumroad sends the refund to your payment method | Instant to 1 day |
| Money back on your card / PayPal | 3-5 business days (cards), 1-2 days (PayPal) |
What I ask in return (not a condition, just a request)
If you're refunding because the product wasn't useful, I'd genuinely like one sentence on why. What did you expect? What did you actually get? Where was the gap? I'm building the next version based on feedback like this. You're under zero obligation to answer — your refund goes through the same regardless.
What I do NOT do
- Demand a reason for the refund
- Delay refunds hoping you forget
- Send automated "are you sure?" emails
- Offer discount codes instead of refunds
- Require you to delete the files
- Make you wait for a "team review"
- Blame Gumroad for slow processing when it's actually within my control
This policy is simple because I think that's how refund policies should work. Buying a €29 digital product shouldn't require legal-grade risk management from the buyer.
